Doren is rice farmer and a pastor. He  He's been so impressed with the training that we've given him, that he's worked very hard to share it with other pastors.  He's been taking the material we've translated into Manipuri and is now teaching it in his church as well as in six other groups.

Doren was raised as a Hindu and his mother who lives with him, is still Hindu.  God called him to start a church in his village.  Previously another group tried to start a church there and the villagers destroyed.  However, thus far, Doren hasn't suffered the same kind of fate.  In fact, he's shared the gospel with every person in his village.

Now he's trying to help other pastors to build their churches.  He leads small groups 5 days each week.  Two days a week, he leads groups in two different places.  He's taking the discipleship material that we've provided him in Manipuri and training these pastors and church leaders to make disciples in their own churches.  He's using the same material that we went through in English with him.

I'm going to meet with Doren in October and will be speaking at the Manipur Baptist Convention Missions Conference.  There we'll appeal for more pastors to be intentional in making disciples.  In fact we'll invite them to a conference in November titled, "Intentional Disciple Making."  At this conference we'll challenge them to view disciple making as their primary task.  If they're willing to accept this challenge, we'll invite them to join a group called Foundational Bible Story Telling.  There they'll learn basic foundational Bible stories which they can teach others to easily pass on.  These stories will form the foundation for future discipleship training.

Next month, I'll share with you how one pastor is already taking these stories and using them to train his church members to go out and teach others.
