Abishek Pradhan is the pastor of Leadership Training Center Church (LTCC) where our family attends.  He is also one of our most faithful students. 

Most Significant Thing in Ministry

He told me that this year, the most significant thing God has done in His ministry is really sharpening his focus on God's word.  He is passionate about teaching God's Word.  He spends most of his free time studying.  He told me that he's really learned the difference between reading God's word and studying it.  He also knows that the best way to effect change in the lives of the church members is to expose them to God's Word.

How CBLT-India Has Impacted

Demonstrating the power of small groups has been one of the greatest effects of Abishek's participation in CBLT.  He said he'd learned it in theory before, but his involvement in small groups with us has really convinced him of the benefit of life change through relationship in community with other believers. He is planning to start several small groups in the church in the beginning of 2008. 

Teaching Others - Clearing up Misunderstandings

Abishek recently told me that he had the pleasure of meeting with three new believers to explain to them that he wanted to meet with them in a small group.  They had the idea that if they attended a Bible study that they would be lectured.  He explained that in a small group, everyone discusses the scriptures and gives input and everyone can learn from everyone else, just like we've been doing in CBLT.

Pray for Abishek, who has very little training and LTCC.  One of the challenges he faces is leading a church comprised of uneducated villagers as well as people with much higher formal theological training (including doctorates in theology).  He's very committed to leading the church to make disciples and plant churches.  Currently the church is supporting four church plants.
